How did we get our start? Founder Katie McCarron turned her nutritional eye to her aging poodle, Rosie, who had lost weight and interest in food. Shocked by the unnatural supplements in commercial dog food, Katie began to cook homemade meals, expanding into more healthy dog and cat products.

She began to cook Rosie's meals, always focusing on natural ingredients, and Rosie regained weight. This led to the expansion of Katie's meals and dog biscuits, and the birth of Portland Pet Food Company.

The company believes in sustainability, sourcing all ingredients from Pacific Northwest companies and repurposing Portland breweries' spent grains. They also thoughtfully support the local community, with 5% of net profits going to local non-profit animal shelters and programs.
